Learn and Take Action
Journeys
Leaders, is your troop ready to complete a journey, this spring or next fall? They often cover topics that you’re not familiar with and need girls to “dive deeper” in progression for both girl leadership and taking action. The environment-focused journeys are now revised as “hybrids” that start with troop or SU contact and then clarify troop schedule, troop interests, balance of individual and troop activities, facilitation by other older girls in some virtual meetings, and troop-scheduled Take Action.
Your troop can get a “fast” journey with some community partners ($30 for three hours?). But they short-cut the girls’ experiences to share and learn from each other, and to build skills for the silver and gold award steps.
Sign up for a journey with your troop or several troops? Contact Anne Fege at afege@aol.com for more information.
